Bet Builder Explained

One of the biggest and best betting sites out there, Bet365, sent waves through the online betting world after releasing a new feature dubbed the Bet Builder. Soon after, many other online bookies were quick to follow in their footsteps. So what exactly is it, and how does it work? Keep reading to find out more.

What is the Bet Builder?

Basically, the bet builder is an evolution to the standard accumulator formula. It allows you to add and combine special bets in a single match. That way, you can focus on a single game, and combine a lot of different aspects of it into a single bet, in order to maximise profits.

For example, imagine a game in which you want to bet on a clear favourite. This is bound to have very short odds, understandably. But you’re also pretty sure it will be a decisive victory. So you can add an Over 2.5 Goals on there, multiplying the potential reward as if it were an Acca. Throw on some bets that the favourite’s top goal-getter will score, and a half-time result bet, and your winnings will quickly sky-rocket.

That’s pretty much the gist of it. The only limit to what you can do with a bet builder is your imagination, so have at it and have fun.

How to Use the Bet Builder

The process here is fairly simple. Just pick a match you’re interested in from the online sportsbook, select the “build a bet” option, and start picking markets you want to add to the bet.

Remember, though, that Bet Builders are based on accumulators, and a lot of the same principles apply. If you lose a single part, or a “leg” of you built bet – you lose the whole stake. Take care not to get carried away with the number and odds of such bets. Sure, the reward grows exponentially – but the probability of you winning goes down just as quickly.

Also, there are some limits to bets built this way. You usually cannot choose more than 6 different markets (although the number can vary depending on the bookie), and they all must be from a single match. You cannot combine multiple built bets in accumulators, and you cannot request a cash out.

Bet Builder Strategy

Again, bets made in this way need to be treated similarly to accumulators. Thus, refer back to those when thinking about your betting strategy. They are used for high-risk, high-reward bets, and so a relatively small stake is recommended.

The betting theory does not look upon accumulators as a particularly good idea, and it’s easy to see why. Still, Bet Builder wagers might be an overall smarter option. There are several common markets that are often confirmed at the same time. Think of it this way: a match with a lot of goals is likely to confirm both the Over 2.5 Goals market and the Both Teams To Score market.

Also, try to stick to more conservative options. In the above example, Over 1.5 goals might actually be a good idea for once. Usually, the odds for such a market are too small to be of interest – but stack them up with more markets, and suddenly the profit margin is pretty good.
