An unexpected, although irrelevant on a points-per-game basis, loss was suffered by Ethnikos in the previous matchday, losing 1-2 to Othellos away. The hosts entered more determined into the game despite having been relegated. Kyriakou had a shot off the post on the 6th minute for Othellos, but on the 32nd minute Nardini found the way to the net and made it 1-0. Before Ethnikos could recover, the hosts scored again on the 34th minute with Mpik exploiting an error by Artymatas and making it 2-0 to finish the first half.

In the second half, Ethnikos was better and applied a lot of pressure. Peratikos reduced to 2-1 on the 58th minute and on the 69th minute Kampera missed a good opportunity for the equalizer. The visitors continued to try for a goal but they couldn’t make it and eventually lost 2-1.

The only absence for the interim coach Tsourefis is the injured Lomotei.

After being unexpectedly good following their elimination from the Cup, Apollon appeared to be in fine form as they crushed AEL 4-1 in the previous match. Markes opened the scoring in the first minute, then stepped back, giving AEL the chance to attack and create several opportunities but failing to score. On the contrary, the home team took advantage of a mistake in AEL’s defense and scored the second goal in the 37th minute with Bakengka. In the first minute of stoppage time, Markes made it 3-0, which was the halftime score.

The defensive problems of the visitors continued into the second half where Apollon missed more chances, including hitting the post, but in the 68th minute, it became 4-0 with Andoni. The visitors scored a consolation goal with Mintsef in the 84th minute.

Panagiotou and Peretz, as well as the injured Valbuena, are out of the squad.
