For the fourth consecutive match, Famalicao stayed away from victory as they lost 1-0 away from home to Estoril last week. The game was not good and chances in both penalty areas were minimal. The golden goal was scored in the 34th minute by Gomez with a nice shot.

Famalicao tried for the equalizer, especially in the second half, but goalkeeper Marcelo Carné was in the right position whenever needed, while Estoril did not threaten at all in the replay and settled for holding onto the win. In the end, the result remained the same and the hosts took the three points.

Benfica comes from a 3-1 home victory against Braga and is now definitely from second… to third in the championship. The visitors started the match strongly and missed a good opportunity in the 20th minute but in the 28th minute they managed to make it 0-1 with Orta. Just before the end of the first half, Braga had another good chance for a goal but the two teams went to the locker rooms with the score at 0-1.

In the second half, Benfica had complete control of the game and confined the visitors to their area. Goalkeeper Mateus saved Braga twice with his saves but in the 71st minute he couldn’t react to Marcus Leonardo’s shot that equalized the score at 1-1. In the 85th minute, Neres made it 2-1 for the Eagles and in the 89th minute Braga threw in the towel when Gomez was sent off for a foul. So, in injury time, the hosts took advantage of the numerical superiority and made it a final 3-1 with Marcus Leonardo again.
