In an impressive way, Union overcame the obstacle of Antwerp at home, where they prevailed 4-1. The match did not start in the best way, and in the 17th minute they fell behind in the score against their opponent. However, they reacted quickly as in the 37th minute they equalized the match and two minutes later they turned the match around. They were superior in the second half and essentially settled the match in the 54th minute with a 3-1 lead. In injury time, they found a fourth goal to give their victory a triumphant dimension.

Second consecutive victory against Antwerp, thus remaining alive in the title race. This is because they are just one point away from the top and Anderlecht. If they win, they will be at worst in second place and will wait for loss of points from Club Brugge to reach the top.

The only absence is that of substitute defender Leysen (4/0), which does not affect.

The Antwerp did not perform at their best in the away match against Cercle Brugge, where they ended in a 1-1 draw. They were better at the start of the match and managed to take the lead in the 11th minute. However, they later faced great pressure from their opponent and conceded the equalizer in the 51st minute of the match. They were threatened thereafter, but the 1-1 result proved to be the final outcome.

With this draw, they remain at the top of the standings, but now they share the position with Club Brugge and saw Union close the gap to one point. In the top-of-the-table derby, they are looking for the three points to essentially leave Union out of the title race and compete for the championship in the final matches against Club Brugge.
