“Close call” for Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry, where they eventually secured qualification in the penalty shootout. They started strong in the first half and opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Towards the end of the first half, they found a second goal and seemed to be securing the match at 3-0 in the 58th minute. From then on, they thought everything was over and paid the price. They conceded a goal in the 71st minute to make it 3-1 and another goal in the 79th minute. In stoppage time, they were equalized from the penalty spot. They couldn’t find a goal in extra time and ultimately celebrated qualification in the penalty shootout.

In the final, they will face Manchester City and essentially the entire season will be decided there. They dropped to 7th place in the league standings and against Sheffield United, they only need a win to return to the top six.

Defensive problems as So (12/0), Lindelof (19/1), Varane (21/1), Martinez (9/0), and Cavani (7/0) are out. In midfield, Mount (12/1) is also out, as well as forward Martial (13/1).

Sheffield United did not perform well in their home match against Burnley, where they suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat. They fell behind in the 38th minute and conceded a second goal two minutes later. They managed to pull one back in the 52nd minute but were unable to keep up. They conceded a third goal in the 58th minute and the final score of 4-1 against them was sealed in the 71st minute.

Following this defeat, their relegation became official, as they are ten points away from the safety positions with five matches remaining and no realistic chance of fighting for something. They have had no wins in their last nine games with six losses and three draws.

Defenders Davies (5/0), Egan (6/0), Basham (8/0), Lowe (8/0), and Baldock (13/0) are out. Midfielder Davies (9/0) and forward Brewster (11/0) are also sidelined.
